This is what the LORD of Hosts says: …. I will give you a place among these who are standing here – Zechariah 3:7
This prophecy was originally intended for restoration of Israelites (Chosen People) from Babylon captivity. However, the same can be applied to New testament believers as well. At the beginning of Zechariah chapter 3, the vision of Zechariah relating to “Joshua the high priest” can be interpreted from New testament perspective as follows –
1) Joshua the high priest represents the church.
2) Joshua appearing in filthy garments represent the sinful nature of the believers
3) Angel of the Lord rebuking Satan represents Jesus interceding on behalf of the body of Christ.
All the promises of God are conditional. We cannot lead a careless life and expect a blessing or can have a place in eternal glory. For example, to have an eternal life we need to believe John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
By obeying God’s instructions, we shall be part of His family and will have a place in eternal glory.
Prayer: Father God, help us to obey your commands, for your word is lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
