Psalm 102:17 – He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea
Our God is just, and His nail pierced and stretched hand is ready to help the people who cry out to him for help. When the powerful oppress the weak, God will defend them.
We read in Exodus 14:10 – When the powerful Pharaoh’s army approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, they were terrified and cried out to the LORD. The angel of the Lord who was leading them as pillar of fire and pillar of cloud came between Pharaoh’s army and Israelites. He answered the prayers of Israelites and delivered them from the hand of the powerful Egyptian army.
Another great example is Jonah. He prayed to the Lord from the belly of the fish. In verse Jonah 2:2 – In my distress I called to the Lord and he answered me. Whether we are in land or in the belly of the fish the prayer of the destitute reaches His ear. Our God is merciful, gracious and slow to anger, and He will never despise the desperate prayer.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for answering our desperate prayers and delivering us from the power of darkness. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
