…I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death – John 8:51
Jesus is addressing here that if we follow his word, we will not die. He is not talking about the first death (Physical body perishing) but instead He is talking about the second death – The death of Soul or Spirit.
All people righteous and unrighteous both will die – First Death. We are seeing pastors/believers passing away at a very young age, why it is happening so? As recorded in Isaiah 57:1 – Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
As recorded in Revelation 21:8 – Cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death and eternal separation from God. Hence to avoid the second death, we have to obey God’s word and be born of the spirit.
Prayer: Father God – Help us to fear you and follow your commandments so that we might escape the eternal separation from you. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
