The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Lord pities those who fear Him

As a father pities his children, so that LORD pities those who fear Him – Psalms 103:13

As a father pities his children – In other belief systems they won’t call God as father.  But in Christianity we can call God as “Father” because in the Lord’s prayer Jesus is addressing God as “Father”.  Though our God is consuming fire, He shows mercy towards us.  He is slow to anger and abounding in love.

LORD pities those who fear Him – The Lord extends his mercies only for those who fear him. Fear of the LORD is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death – Proverbs 14:27

As an earthly father when our kids make mistakes, we talk with them and understand their motive and correct/forgive them.  But our heavenly father knows our heart and doesn’t deal harshly with us, instead gives us the opportunity to repent. The parable of the Lost son in Luke 15:11-32 – depicts the heart of our God. He is Father to the fatherless, defender of widows — this is God, whose dwelling is holy.

Prayer:  Father God, you didn’t give us the spirit of slavery but instead you adopted us as sons and daughters by which we can call you us “Abba, Father!”. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
