The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Hear my Prayer

…. Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer – Psa. 4:1

David is crying out to God for help. He is fleeing from his enemy – most likely Absalom based on Psalms 3 the preceding chapter. Though David is king he didn’t rely on the might of his army rather he relied on the mercies of God.

Most of the time our prayers are not answered because we ask not.  Yes, God knows our heart but as a believer we need to ask Him. James 4:2 says, “You do not have because you do not ask God.”   As a child of God our duty is to Ask, seek and knock the door.

In another situation, When David’s son born for Bathsheba was sick, he will pray to God for his son’s healing, but the Lord will not heal him.  Sometimes out of God’s sovereignty He might not answer our prayers. Like David we need to accept His will in our life.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for surrounding us with your mercy and grace. Help us to let you know our request with thanksgiving and wait for your perfect will to be done in our life.  In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
