The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

God’s word is the truth

….beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 2 Peter 3:17

The New Testament is clear that the enemy deceitfully infiltrates the church with false teachers who sound biblical, but deceptively lead God’s people away from the truth into a destructive path. Peter clearly mentioned in chapter 2 and 3 warning about these men. In 3:16, he refers to them as “the untaught and unstable”, who distorted the Scriptures to their own destruction.

Whether these false teachers use their own wisdom or attractive opportunities, let us depend on the truth that we have learned and let us grow in that truth. Do not be deceived by their lies but take the Words of God as truth. Take what He teaches and shows us as the only source of truth. There is no extra biblical text that contains His truth that was never revealed to us. What God wants to say to us, He already has given us, it is now for us to listen to His Word as it is written and allow it to change us. Grow in truth. Dive deep into His Word and discover that it is not necessarily the new things but rather the truth that He spoke two thousand years ago that are life-giving and joy-bringing.
