You have turned for me my mourning into dancing….and clothed me with gladness. Psalms 30:11
Psalm 30 is referred to as a psalm of thanks. David, the psalmist was brought out of great distress and thanked God for rescuing him from a close encounter with death. David almost died and he cried out to God for help and God rescued him. David now writes the psalm to thank God.
This verse clearly indicates God’s love for us and points out that God will turn our mourning into dancing. These two are separate sides of a coin, yet this is what our Father says He will do. He will take those times in our lives when we hurt and mourn within and give us such joy that we want to dance in His presence and to enjoy with Him. God is so full! He is so great! He is the One who will take our sackcloth away and clothe us with His gladness. He turns our sorrow into gladness. He takes our failures and turns them into success. We serve an awesome and mighty God, who says, “all things work together for good to them that love Him, and to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
