He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1
Abiding under the shadow of God means choosing to make it our home. We are not just the temporary dwellers or strangers who would come and go. When we choose to be with God, we have the full intention to stay and never leave. Abiding under the shadow of the Almighty protects us from harm, brings life, provides comfort, brings inner peace and gives joy.
When we abide under His shadow, there is peace and comfort from the Lord knowing He is in control of the situation. This is a spiritual place of safety and rest. The Lord is our protector and He will protect us, guide us and help us, no matter what the problems are. It is the safest place where the enemy is not allowed to come into and a place where we can rest and lean on the Lord. The secret place of the Most High must be very close to God. There is no one higher than He. Nothing and no one is higher than our Father. If God is the highest and there is no other, then that truly would be a safe and secure place.
