…they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God…with all their heart and with all their soul; 2 Chronicles 15:12
King Asa gained encouragement from the Lord, when the Spirit of the Lord came upon Azariah to deliver these words after Israel had abandoned the true God for a long time. It says in this verse that the Israelites entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul. As a result of their covenant to serve God, He gave them all round rest. Wholeheartedness is the secret of entering the Covenant with God.
It is clear from this verse that a covenant to serve God with all our heart, soul and body is the key to joy and peace. When we earnestly seek God, we know Him and His Ways. God promises that those who seek Him will find Him. We are to seek the Lord with our whole heart and soul, worship Him always for who He is. God rejoices over His people to do us good when we seek Him with all our heart and our soul. It is when God finds us. We can be grateful, knowing that when we seek Him and His righteousness, we will find Him and all other things will be added to our lives.
