In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Psalms – 94:19
Anxiety has 3 main components: emotional, physiological, and cognitive. We might notice feelings of fear and dread, an emotional component. We might also notice bodily sensations, such as heart palpitations, sweating, or tightness in the stomach, a physiological component. Finally, we might be thinking, “I can’t do it”. Worries and negative thoughts like these about what might happen in the future are the cognitive component.
Being human we might experience one or more of the components of anxiety multiple times in our life. As believers of Christ, the immediate reaction should be to kneel and pray. The Bible says in Philippians 4:6 – “ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. Our mighty God is well able to deliver us from all kinds of anxieties and make all things beautiful in His time. Thereupon His comfort shall delight our soul.
Have a Blessed Day!
