Luke 24:51.
“While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.”
It is essential for us to fully grasp the idea of Jesus Christ’s ascension. Jesus lived for six weeks with His disciples after His resurrection and taught them more about the purpose of His life, and provided the proof of His victory over the death by His resurrection. After that, it was vital for them to fully grasp the primary purpose of this unimaginable cruel process and a very unique way of salvation. But without ascension experience, the purpose of salvation is not complete. The Ascension is the consummation of the Transfiguration.
Transfiguration prepared Jesus to go through the process that no human can ever be able to do. The ascension completes the purpose of Jesus’s miraculous birth, His unbearable suffering, unexpected death, and unimaginable resurrection; with ascension, our Lord has shown us that He is going back into His primal glory; but He does not go back simply as Son of God; instead, He was ascended to God as Son of Man as well as Son of God. To show the path His obedience has provided for the whole human race.
Now there is freedom and full access for anyone who believes on Jesus has straight access to the very throne of God. As Son of Man, Jesus Christ deliberately limited omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience in Himself.
Now everyone who believes on Him will see Him soon for eternity. As Son of Man, Jesus Christ has all power at the throne of God. He is King of kings and Lord of lords from the day of His Ascension and forever till eternity.
The good news we need to deliver is incomplete without telling about Jesus’s ascension and His promise to come back and take us all who believe in Him to His kingdom for eternity.
Now is the time for us to go out and share the whole good news and baptize many in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Promise: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
Prayer: Dear Lord, Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God. Lord, I ask You that You Lord save my soul so that one day I will also ascend to heaven with Jesus and worship You day and night. Help me to be Your disciple on earth and hold me close so that one day I will see You face to face for eternity. In Jesus’s Holy name, I pray Amen.
