The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

The unexpected ultimate victory.

Psalm 66:4 “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name. Selah” ‭‭ This psalm is a responsive psalm, a pleasant response to receive more than expected and all done by His mercies upon us. Read the before and after the text of the key verse for today. “Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! Say to God, ‘How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.’ Selah come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.” ‭‭The psalmist uses ‘Elohim (god or gods––any god) consistently rather than Yahweh (Yahweh––the proper name of Israel’s God). When used in the plural tense it is to refer to Yahweh (as is done consistently in this psalm, ‘Elohim means the God (Yahweh) who sums up all that is godly.
We have won the war. The war of evil vs good. The war that started in the garden of Eden with first disobedience, the war of faith vs doubt, the war of our understanding vs submission to His will, the war of remembrance vs ignorance. Where we trusted the outsider rather than the creator, the war of cunning deceiver.
Jesus came to redeem me and to die in my place so that I could be raised into the newness of life, and live with You in the eternal ages to come.
Selah (v.4, 7, 15) seems to be some sort of musical notation, perhaps signaling a pause or a change of volume or intensity. The psalmist uses Selah to signal transitions. The final transition. The long waited transition. The transition we received through the blood of Christ. The transition from eternal death to eternal life. Jesus defeated Satan and won the battle to win us all from death and gave us the victory over sin.
In our next war of temptation, we just need to remember His sacrifice, death, burial, and resurrection. We are no longer dead instead we are risen to overcome the tempter.
Promise: “For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.”
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God. Lord, I praise and thank You for the wonderful works of Your hand and the awesome deeds that You have done for me. Thank You that Jesus came to redeem me and to die in my place so that I could be raised into newness of life, and live with You in the eternal ages to come. How awesome are Your works and how great is Your power. All the earth will worship You and sing praises to Your holy name, for You alone are worthy of our honor and thanksgiving, our worship and praise. In Jesus’s Holy Name, we pray Amen.
Have a blessed day!
