The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

New Jerusalem

The Gentiles shall see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory…
Isa 62:2

Isaiah prophesied the above verse in a time when Jerusalem was conquered by the Babylonians. The city was spiritually corrupt and looked like a desert. Isaiah, here, prophetically speaks comfort and assurance to discouraged and downcast Israel citizens. The LORD assures them through Isaiah that He will not rest until Jerusalem is restored by a shining righteousness.

When GOD lifts up Jerusalem, then the nations see it and are brought to trust in the LORD themselves. The work God would do for Jerusalem was intended to influence more than just Jerusalem but would extend to the Gentiles and to all kings. Isaiah also says that Jerusalem would be transformed, and a NEW name would be given to this city by the LORD himself. “… a new name written which no one knows except him…” (  Revelation 2:17).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for this new day. O…Lord, help the true church to prosper and grow even amid these troubled situations and also help your believers to re-adjust their priorities away from the riches and cares of this world and onto the precious eternal truths of our salvation in Jesus. In the name of Jesus, Amen
