The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Married to GOD

For the Lord delights in you,
And your land shall be married
. -Isa 62:4

The above verse was spoken to the Jerusalem people as a promise by the GOD through Isaiah at the time when Jerusalem was captured and ruined by Nebuchadnezzar and his army sometime 50 to 60 years before. The city was like a desert. In addition, Isaiah himself was in Babylon and Israel has not yet been rescued.

The Lord promises to keep working until His purposes for Jerusalem are fulfilled.

Isaiah described Jerusalem’s future relationship with GOD to a happy marriage. Just like a good husband takes care of a wife.

Although He has forsaken Israel because of her sin, He will restore the city and redeem a faithful remnant. Because He loves us.

His promise to establish Jerusalem and make her the praise of the earth.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, there can be no greater calling than to be married to you, in our hearts and in our land. Thank You for your great and grand promises to us through our Savior, Jesus Christ. We accept Your call and the mercies You offer us. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
