If My people… humble themselves, and pray, …then, … I will forgive their sin. 2 Chr. 7:14
Israelites 40 years of wilderness was one of the essential journeys in the Old Testament. In that journey, when Israelites were hungry, God made them humble with hunger, then fed them so that they would know that God is the provider. Israelite's pride did not satisfy their hunger but their humbleness.
When King Solomon dedicated the temple, he prayed to God to hear their people's prayer and make provisions when they sinned. God appeared to Solomon and gave a conditional promise of forgiveness: they need to 1) humble themselves, 2) pray, 3) seek God's face, and 4) turn from their wicked ways, then God would hear their prayers and forgive their sin. True repentance is more than talk, it comes out of heart, and it is more than a talk. If you need forgiveness, follow these four principles to get forgiveness. God does not change His word; He is a prayer listening to God and answering God!
