The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Immanuel – God is with us

Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isa 7:14

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14-16). These are the words of the disciple whom Jesus loved (Apostle John) to describe Lord Jesus. As John experienced Jesus personally, he recognized that God came in the form of Jesus.

Around 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah wrote a prophecy about Jesus that the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son and shall call His name Immanuel. The meaning of “Immanuel” is “God is with us.” The virgin birth of Jesus may be a small thing, but it is vital and central to our salvation. Because of the virgin birth, Jesus does not have the same sinful nature as we do. John the prophet called Jesus as the lamb, who takes away the sin of the world! To become the lamb of God, it should be perfect without defect, and Jesus lived a perfect life without sin. As Jesus came down to save us from our sin, let us be thankful to our Immanuel God, who is always with us!
