The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Be Still – The Lord fights for you!

“You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you” – Deuteronomy 3:22

Moses disobeyed God by striking the rock with his staff for water, instead of speaking to the rock. Therefore, God did not let Moses enter the promised land and instructed him to hand over the responsibilities to Joshua to lead the people of Israel into the promised land.

We can understand how Joshua must have felt when God had entrusted him with this enormous responsibility. But Moses encourages Joshua and takes him down memory lane reminding him of how God had delivered them in the past, destroying their enemies. God Himself fought for the people of Israel, and Joshua was to put his trust in God to do the same in the future. When you and I face our daily battles, let us remember how God delivered us in the past, fought for us, provided for us, and supplied His sufficient grace. That should fuel our faith and make us confident in the Lord, because He will never fail us!

“The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm” – Exodus 14:14
