The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Prayer – weapon against the enemy

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion.” – 1 Peter 5:8

The first rule in any war is to know your enemy. So, it is very essential that we know about our real enemy – Satan. Satan is a deceiver and a father of lies. He disguises himself as an angel of light. He studies us thoroughly to know our weaknesses and tempts us to sin. We might not be able to physically see him attack us, but when there is no peace, be rest assured that the devil is working behind the scenes. He will try to feed us with lies, discourage us and make us slaves to fear. When we believe his lies, he infiltrates churches and families, seeking to destroy.

Knowing the schemes of the enemy, Apostle Peter is instructing all believers to be alert. How can we be alert? Through prayer. Prayer is our weapon against the enemy! When we pray, we receive supernatural strength and the courage from God to face the enemy.

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation” – Matthew 26:41
