Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; Prov 3:5
King Solomon, the wisest man on the earth, in today’s verse commands us to trust in the Lord, not partially but fully. We do trust God definitely in the unknown areas of our lives, but we tend to hold on to our ways and our wisdom in areas that we are familiar with. We assume that we know better, we become proud until something fails. The Bible clearly tells us in Prov 14:12, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Yes, this is very true. It may not be physical death, but definitely spiritual death.
Trusting the Lord is a choice. Its obedience. It’s complete surrender. May the Lord help us to make a decision to trust in Him completely, relying on Him and resting in Him totally. Believing that He knows what is best for us, may we acknowledge that His ways are higher than our ways and His plans for us are better than our plans.
