You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. John 8:23
Lord Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry faced a lot of opposition from Jews, Pharisees, scribes and religious leaders. He always claimed who He was and where He came from. He asserted that He came from Heaven, He was sent by the Father, and He came to finish the work of the Father. It was hard for
them to accept Jesus because the god of this world (Satan) has blinded their minds.
In today’s verse, we see that Lord Jesus was warning them that, with all their religion, earthly power, pride, and self-righteousness, it is impossible for them to reach God in heaven. Nothing of this world can bridge the gap between man and God, except Jesus Christ.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is presented to everyone on this earth, without exception. It is our choice whether to accept Him and be part of Heavenly kingdom or reject Him and be destined to Hell. Jesus is the only Way to be saved and nothing else in this world can save us from our sins. Today, if we hear His voice, let us not harden our hearts, rather accept Him, and have eternal life, before it’s too late!
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).
