Therefore, I also have lent him to the LORD as long as he lives, he shall be lent to the LORD. 1 Sam. 1:28
The act of worship that Elkanah and Hannah chose to do was to lent their firstborn son named Samuel to the Lord. The verse ends with “And he worshiped the Lord there”. Samuel became the first and the most prominent Prophet of Israel.
Did not God answer our prayers in the past as he answered Hannah’s prayer? In return what did we lend or give to the Lord? Or What act of worship did we do to the Lord?
Worship includes offering our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto Him; revering His presence with fear and trembling; worshiping Him by word of mouth; worshiping Him by forgetting ourselves; forgiving an enemy; being faithful to the Lord for the responsibility he has assigned unto us in His kingdom and many more. As we start this day, may we recognize the acts of worship, and may we lend ourselves unto Him fully.
