In the prior chapters of Exodus 24, Moses received several instructions from the Lord including ten commandments on Mount Sinai. He delivered them to the people of Israel for which they responded with one voice that they would do all the words of the LORD. Nevertheless, they again sinned against the LORD and brought the wrath of God upon them.
In the same manner, our Christian walk is identical to the walk of Israelites. Once saved, the word of God has got several instructions for us to follow. Obviously, several times we have failed to follow His instructions as Israelites did. God’s instructions or commandments are given for our own good, for our families well being, for our societies to be blessed. Yet it's challenging to follow because of our in-built sinful nature.
Only through the help of the Holy Spirit God, we can obey His commandments. Constant communion with the Lord in prayer and hearing His voice, loving the Lord, hating wickedness is a powerful key too. May the good Lord help us to do all that He has commanded unto us.
