Today’s verse is an amazing description of our future abode reserved in heaven for those who believe in Christ and His work on the cross. Through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, we now cherish the hope of that future inheritance in heaven. It will not fade away and vanish, as that which we inherit in this world does.

Worldly possessions are uncertain and soon pass away, like the flowers and plants of the field. Our eternal inheritance will be imperishable or will endure forever. It will not be obtained by dishonesty, nor will it be held by fraud.
May we set our hearts on the things above and not on the things below. Happy are those whose hearts the Holy Spirit sets on this inheritance. God not only gives His people grace but preserves them unto glory.
