You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you Josh. 7:13
God spoke this verse after Israelites got defeated by the nation of Ai. Ai was the most unchallenging nation to war with as it was lightly populated. Nevertheless, God’s people got utterly defeated because of the sin of one man who stole from the enemy’s plunder and lied. God said – “I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.”

Similarly, though being a born-again believer, God would never entertain wickedness/sinful practices in us. He pampers no one. He is not only a loving God but also a God of wrath. There are countless known or unknown things in us that are devoted to destruction yet not addressed.
God’s word is a light that reveals our wickedness. May the word of God shine on every area and corner of our life to expose our true self so that we can destroy that which is devoted to destruction. Be of good cheer as He would certainly correct us but a blessing would definitely follow after obedience.
