But when in their trouble they turned to the LORD God of Israel and sought Him, He was found by them. 2 Chron. 15:4
These were the words of the Spirit of God spoken through Azariah and delivered to King Asa. He said – “For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach, and without the law. But in their distress, they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.”
In the long line of kings of Israel and Judah, most of them learned it in the hard way that if they neglected their relationship with God, they stumbled.
In life when we place something in the place of God and allow it to take control, we stumble. It might be a thought, an action, a possession, a position of responsibility, a job, a craving, a person, a different plan than what God has for us. But in our distress when we turn towards Him and seek Him, He will be found. May we seek God and His Kingdom first and all other things will be added to us.
