Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. 1 Peter 2:22
In writing to Jewish believers struggling amid persecution, Peter quotes Isaiah 53:9 and encourages them to conduct themselves courageously above reproach. Christ is our model and we ought to follow His steps. The suffering of Christ is unjust, He was beaten, reviled, mocked, rebuked but continued to entrust in God. In His divinity, Jesus bore the weight of the sin of mankind. In His humanity, Jesus experienced all the pain, agony, and humiliation of the Cross. To this, we have been called to suffer unjustly. Jesus submitted to the Heavenly Father, and also to the government, He was shamed publicly because Jesus entrusted himself to the Father who judges justly. We ought to submit as servants to our masters, and not only to good but also to unjust. When going through unjust suffering, God’s blessing is His presence in our lives. He is not just the example, but He is the power to do it.
The path to glory for Christ was the path of unjust suffering. That's our path also. Our Lord endured suffering with perfect patience and was exalted to the highest point of glory. He is our example of how to respond to suffering.
