The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Walk Worthy!

That you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:12

In today’s verse, Paul urges the believers at Thessalonica to walk worthy of God’s call and live in a manner that is worthy of God, Who calls each one of us into His kingdom and glory. “Walk” refers to the Christian life and conduct. The message Paul taught, combined with his own personal lifestyle, was a living example of a worthy walk before God. Paul exemplified a man living to honor the Lord and reflecting the character of God. Paul has spoken of how he had lived his life before them with boldness to proclaim God’s message, showing a life of purity as he seeks God’s approval, and revealing his love for them as he shared his very life with them, and he came to exhort each one of them, encourage them, and charge them to walk in a manner worthy of God.

We who were once living in darkness, enslaved to sin, have been saved and received the promise of His kingdom of light and received life, grace, glory, forgiveness, and hope. How important that we all would walk in a manner worthy of our Father, to the praise of His holy name. After we receive the free gift of salvation, we must walk in that salvation. Pick up your cross daily, is what Jesus said, and then He said, follow me. The only way that we can walk worthy of God is to step in the footprints Jesus laid for us to walk in. We have to admit that without Christ's sufficient strength we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, we receive the sufficient grace to walk worthily before Him! We have not only received forgiveness of sin and everlasting life through faith in Him but have been called to be partakers of God's heavenly kingdom and received a share in His own glory – as heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ!
