Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all – Ps. 34:19
Scripture clearly says in this world you will have trouble. Godly life doesn’t guarantee that you will not have troubles but instead you need to go through them, but the consolation is that in all the troubles the Lord will be with you and deliver you.
For example, Paul the man of God had a face-to-face encounter with Jesus. After accepting Christ, he had to go through a very rough patch of life. Once he had to suffer a shipwreck, in another instance he was bitten by a snake and was thrown into prison for preaching the Gospel. Though he had a face to face encounter with God, he went through afflictions.
Without afflictions we will go astray. The Lord prunes every believer so that we may be fruitful. So be of good cheer for every trouble you go through and that will draw you closer to God.
Prayer: Father God, help us not to be scared of the afflictions, rather fill us with your holy spirit to endure the sufferings so that we will be molded like a vessel you intended. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
