The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Return to God with all your heart

Yet even now, says our God, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning – Joel 2:12

The above verse is the warning of Joel to God’s people about the day of the Lord (About destruction). He is warning the people to repent and turn to God with all their hearts. Scripture (Word of God) was given to us to understand the kingdom principles and patterns. For example, anyone entering the throne of grace needs to humble themselves. You cannot approach the throne of grace with pride in your heart. Scripture says, God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble – James 4:6

We read in Luke 18:10, the parable of Tax collector and Pharisee – The Pharisee prayed a self-righteous prayer, but the tax collector asked for God's mercy as he was a sinner.  Tax collector received mercy from God, not the Pharisee.

So as a believer in Christ, let us repent of lust of flesh, lust of eyes, pride of life and humble ourselves and return to the Lord with fasting, weeping and mourning with our household so that our prayers might raise like incense to the Lord.

Prayer: Father God, help us to acknowledge our shortcomings and give us broken heart and contrite spirit. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
