Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD – Ps 27:14
We are in a fast paced world where everything is instantaneous. We see a lot of fast-food shops – Foods are prepared and delivered in a short span of time. We need to keep in mind that anything that comes quickly will have side effects. The one thing we don’t like in 21st century is waiting. We don’t want to grow gradually but want to grow from ashes to riches immediately. It is written, Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow – Proverbs 13:11.
God uses the waiting time to protect us. Sometimes instant blessings can become a curse. For example, when God blessed king Solomon abundantly, he didn’t follow Him wholeheartedly. Though he started well, his finishing was not as great as his father David. Scripture says, he had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines — and his wives turned his heart away.
Quiet down before God, be prayerful before Him. Don’t bother with those who climb the ladder, who elbow their way to the top. Scripture says, the blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
Prayer: Father God, help us to wait patiently in your presence and inherit blessings in our lives in your appointed time. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
