Hebrew 4:13 “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
We interpret this verse depending on our view of God. Today’s verse is given to us not to terrify us, but to lead us that we must not hide anything from the one who created us and have a perfect plan for us to be in His presence lining in abundance with full protection from everything that may harm us. It is not good and beneficial for us if we interpret this in a negative perspective and be scared; instead of that we must rejoice in that one who loves us and gave His own blood for our redemption and is always ready to forgive us without prejudice. If we believe that God is looking to punish us every time we do something wrong, then a verse like this can be terrifying and push us away from our redemption. But if we believe God is waiting for us to settle our sin account after death, then reading these words are less than reassuring. We can understand the scriptures and the real message of this verse is revealing the loving nature of God toward us in Jesus, we should see how wonderful this message is. The verse we are reading today is revealing God’s purpose for our lives. He wants us to be transformed into Jesus and justify all our impurities and filthiness transforming our bodies, soul, and spirit by separating our deadly nature and giving us His glorious shape the one He desires for us to carry. We just need to go to Him as we are so He can do all to clean us and cover us to be protected by any harm.
Nothing is concealed from God’s sight, everything is open and exposed, which means it is known to God what we are and how fragile we are that is important for someone who loves to fix and put things in a way it can properly function and do according to His will. We feel secure in knowing that people don’t know our true thoughts and intentions, but the Bible says that God knows and the scripture judges the heart. The verse before this passage says Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”. Since God knows and understands who we are, He also knows and understands the truth we need to hear to continue the transformation of our soul into the likeness of Christ.
Psalm 103:8-13, “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”
Let’s not be afraid of being exposed, rather be joyful that Our creator knows our nature and through the love of Christ He continues to provide us guidance for us to be transformed in our savior’s likeness and become Holy to live in His presence forever.
Promise: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God. Lord, Thank You, Father, for the living, powerful Word of God. I pray that whatever it takes, Your Holy Spirit would continue to convict, convert, comfort, and conform me into the image of the lovely Lord Jesus so that I become the person You want me to be. May I never hinder the work of Your Holy Spirit within, as He continues to divide my born-again spirit from my sin-sick soul. Root out all that is not of Christ and use me I pray, as a conduit through whom You can flow, unhindered, into the lives of those around me. Thank You that You loved us so much that You purposed to change all who believe, into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus. In Jesus’s Holy Name, I pray Amen.
Have a blessed day!
