The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Lasting Comfort

Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort,
According to Your word to Your servant. (Ps 119:76)

At least once in our lives, we might have looked for comfort. Here also in this verse, Psalmist is looking for comfort. He is not trying to find comfort in earthly things; instead, he is looking at God for comfort. Psalmist knows that if he gets comfort anywhere other than God, it might last for a few minutes, hours, or days.

Scripture says in 2 Thessalonians 2:16, “God’s comfort is eternal.” The psalmist is looking for that kind of eternal comfort, the lasting comfort, God promised through the scripture.

My dear, you might be hurting at this current moment. Where are you looking for comfort? Do you need lasting comfort? May this devotion serve as a reminder. TURN TO GOD AND HIS WORD.

No matter what your race, language, ethnicity, age, gender, disability, nationality, economic status, or even your spiritual status is, if you are looking for lasting comfort. God is ready to comfort you with His arms wide open.

We have the love of God to comfort us and the promises of God to encourage us. All you and I need to do is simply TURN TO GOD AND HIS WORD.
Amen.
