Take heed, watch and pray;
For you do not know when the time is. Mark 13:33
We all love a good surprise, and there is a day coming when every one of us will experience the biggest surprise in our lives, a God-size surprise — the glorious return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Mark 13, the Disciples ask Jesus: when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled? (v4). Jesus exhorts his disciples by saying…Take heed, watch and pray: For you do not know when the time is.
The scripture is so true even today. Every second of a believer’s life, we need to expect his second coming, anticipate the kingdom of Christ, be vigilant, stay faithful to the calling that God has given to us individually and corporately, continue sharing the Gospel, and most importantly, pray Maranatha – Come Lord.
For those who are steadfastly waiting and praying. It is going to be a pleasant surprise. For those who are not, it is going to be a shocker. (see 1 Corinthians 15:52).
