Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Psalm 105:1
Psalmist gives three exhortations, “Give thanks,” “Call upon His name,” and “Make Known His deeds among the people.”
Today let us meditate on the third exhortation, Make known His deeds among the people. Matthew 28:19-20 clearly says God has given every believer a call to share the gospel. Current statistics say that billions of people don’t even know the name “Jesus” in this day and age of technological excellence.
One of the reasons being many believers think, I have committed many sins in the past; how can I share the gospel? Is it even my calling to share about Jesus? Am I qualified? If you think that way, let me humbly remind a few men and women of the bible. Jacob was a cheater; Peter had a temper; David had an affair; Noah got drunk; Jonah ran from God; Paul was a murderer; Gideon was insecure; Miriam was a gossiper; Martha was a worrier; Thomas was a doubter; Sarah was impatient, Elijah was depressed. Despite their shortcomings, God used them mightily. They are not perfect. We all are imperfect people, but we have a forgiving and perfect God.
Remember, God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the Called! Amen.
