The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

face to face

Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing. Psalm 100:2

Psalm 100 is a beautiful psalm of thanksgiving for The Lord’s faithfulness toward His people. The psalmist starts off this psalm by encouraging people to come in unity and make a joyful shout to the ever-faithful Lord (v1).

Continues to Verse 2 and says, “Serve the Lord with gladness (v2)”. Service should come from a Joyful, cheerful, and grateful heart.  We need to serve him for who He is and what He has done for us. Service that comes with gladness will be “savior” focused, not self-focused. Savior-focused service results in fruits, and self-focused service results in dead works (useless/NKJV).

The Later part of the verse, Come before His presence with singing. The word “before” in Hebrew is “Paneh” which also means face to face. What could be more appropriate when we come face to face with this Ever-Faithful, Almighty God except to praise and worship Him with songs?

This Resurrection Day, God willing, every one of us will get an opportunity to assemble in a few hours. Let us take this opportunity to enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name (v4).

Amen.
