that you keep this commandment without spot,
blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 1 Timothy 6:14
In Today’s verse, Paul writes to Timothy to keep the commandment without spot and blameless. Paul is encouraging Timothy to lead a peculiar life from the life that the world offers until our Lord Jesus Christ’s glorious return. Even though Paul lists out some instructions in verses 11 and 12, I firmly believe Paul is referring to the Gospel message proclaimed to him in fullness. Paul exhorts Timothy to be obedient and true to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hey, if a person like Timothy, a Protege of the Apostle Paul, needs a reminder. We also need a reminder to be obedient and true to the gospel. Let’s not lean the other way; no matter how enticing the health and wealth gospel is, let’s not encourage it a bit; let’s be bold and hold onto the true gospel of Jesus Christ without spot or blameless until Jesus Christ’s glorious return, and may He be glorified through our lives. Amen.
