The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Repent and…be baptized

Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; Acts 2:38

A group of people, called disciples of Jesus, ran away during and after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Judas betrayed, Peter lied thrice, Thomas doubted, and all His disciples abandoned and fled. But Christ did not leave nor forsook them. After three days after His death, He revealed to all His disciples. That changed the heart, that changed the mind, that changed their dedication. From then, they did not turn back, instead, they moved forward and proclaimed about Jesus boldly.

Peter, who once lied thrice about Jesus, stood in front of thousands of people and told the truth about Jesus. Who gave the power? Who gave the fearless heart? Who gave the authority? The personal encounter with Jesus changed everything, and the Holy Spirit God filled him with authority, he said, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins”. On that day, about three thousand souls were saved.

We can compare ourselves to disciples. Several times we were shy, and our hearts and mouths did not open up to tell the Gospel to others. But have a personal encounter with Jesus that should change everything and gives the power and authority to proclaim the good news. If you haven’t shared the Gospel with anyone in a long time, this is the season you should pray and try.
