The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
Sin is described in the Bible as the transgression of the law of God (1 Jn. 3:4). We have been maintaining the sin account from our birth, “_Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me._” (Psalm 51:5). Whenever we commit sin, the debt has been adding to our account.
Usually, if people are in debt (money), they try to do hard work and try to clear the debt. Some people try to cheat to clear the debt. However, to clear the debt from our sin account, no human efforts are sufficient, and no cheating is possible. Recently major Indian banks have written off $121 billion in the last 5 years, but who is there to write off our sin debt?
When Jesus came into this world, John the Baptist saw Jesus and called Him “_The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the word!_” Jesus Christ came into the world as a lamb without blemish or spot (1 Pet. 1:9). The spotless, powerful blood of Jesus only can write off our sin debt.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your personal savior, today is the day of your salvation and to clear off your debt.
