For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Love – Give
In today’s verse, if you observe “God so loved” and “He gave” – “love” and “give” goes together. The more you love, the more you give. The less you love, the less you give. When you love someone dearly, you are willing to give everything to the point of self-sacrifice. In today’s verse, we can see that God so loved (highest love, called agape) all of us so that He gave (highest sacrifice) His only begotten Son’s life.
The word “believe” is more than intellectual acceptance that Jesus is God and believing that He died for you and He alone can save you. Once you believe, the promise is “you shall not perish but have everlasting life.” If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your personal savior, it is the time to “believe” to get the gift of salvation and eternal life.
If you have experienced God’s love, as God loved (highest love) and gave (highest sacrifice), let us all love one another (John 13:34) with such kind of love and be ready to give to the needy without expecting anything back.
DO NOT FORGET TO WEAR LOVE WHEREVER YOU GO.
