Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Ps. 37:5
David wrote this Psalm to address the age-old question of why the righteous suffer and the wicked seem to prosper. He tried to answer in this Psalm that evil may be victorious for a short while, but God is there for the righteous, and ultimately He gives the victory.
There are at least three instructions given by David in the first few verses of Ps. 37
Trust in the Lord and do good (v.3) – verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight in the Lord (v. 4) – He shall give you the desires of your heart
Commit and trust in him (v. 5-6) – He shall bring it to pass
If we continue to trust, delight and commit our ways to the Lord, God takes care of us. Below is the answer if we continue to do good.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. (Psalm 37:23-25)
Let us surrender to our dear Lord so that the above will become true in our lives.
