The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Spiritual eyes

Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law. Ps. 119:18

The eyes are an important part of the body designed for seeing. While we walk in our daily life, our physical eyes help us go on the right path. In the scripture, eyes are often associated with light, watching, and spiritual understanding.

Today’s verse talks about spiritual eyes. Unless God opens our spiritual eyes, we can not see wondrous things, hidden things from His law/word. God’s Word is wonderful, and, His works are wonderful. Jesus Christ came as the Light of the world to open our spiritual eyes. Once He opens, we can see wondrous truth from the word. As the pillar of the cloud and the pillar of the fire led Israelites into the promised land, the word leads us to the path of life (Ps. 16:11).

By faith, we can see things that we can’t see with our physical eyes, and we can get the vision of God’s plan in our lives. Instead of looking at temporary things in this world, in order to lead ourselves through the path of life, let us continue to look at Jesus, as He is the author and finisher of our faith.
