As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Ps. 103:12
Psalm 103 reminds us of the many benefits that God has showered upon us. God forgives all our iniquity (3), redeems our life from destruction (4), crowns us with steadfast love and mercy (4), and satisfies us with goodness (5). For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy towards us.
This Psalm also reminds us that we are like grass and like a flower. If a wind passes over it, the flower withers. This tells us that our life is short and fragile. If we think for a moment, why should God care about our fragile life? On top of it, we are born as sinners. But God doesn’t leave us in this state. He has shown His mercy towards us and sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. As far as the east is from the west, he removed our transgressions from us. As God has blessed us, let us not forget His benefits; instead, let us bless the Lord with our soul and all that is within us, and let us bless His Holy name.
