But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
Isaiah 40:31
Eagles, when they sense a storm, even before it breaks, they fly to a very high place and wait patiently for the winds to come. The wind rises as soon as the storm hits, and the eagle spreads its wings so the wind will mount it above the storm. The storm rages below, but the eagle soars above it.
Similarly, when the storms of life come upon us, If we can also set our minds in the high place, on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and wait patiently on the Lord. Jesus will give us enough strength to soar above the storms of life.
If we depend on our strength, we will faint and be weary (See Isaiah 40:30), but if we wait on Jesus with faith and trust in Him completely…His divine strength will be transferred to us; we shall never be weary.
