My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2,3
Do we really feel happy when we go through various trials and temptations? Many of us feel bad and worry about this. However, in today’s verse, James says to “count it all joy” when you fall into various trials. He also tells us how to deal with the situation when we fall into various trials:
Ask God for wisdom (1:5) – our God has all the wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:3). We need Godly wisdom to take right decisions when we fall into various trials, so ask God for wisdom.
Ask God with faith (1:6-8) – when we are in trials, we tend to get tossed here and there, but remember, we need to have faith in God when asking God to bring us out of trials.
Endurance (1:12) – we need to endure with the help of God when we go through various trials and temptations.
Here is the result:
Produces patience (1:3) – testing your faith produces patience.
Receives crown of life (1:12) – Blessed is the man who endures temptation… he will receive the crown of life the Lord promised.
As God allows tough situations to refine us and bring us closer to him, let us all trust and depend on our God during these times.
