You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. – Isaiah 26:3
The Hebrew word for ‘peace’ is shalom and most of us are aware of it. But, what is the hebrew word for Perfect peace? It is shalom shalom. What does it mean? Jesus himself said “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives…” John 14:27. So, perfect peace is something only Jesus can give us, as He is the “Prince of Peace”!
So, what should we do to experience this perfect peace? The second half of the verse has the answer – we need to keep our minds stayed on Jesus. We need to lean on Jesus and fix our eyes on Him, as we trust in Him alone!
We can confidently trust Jesus to provide us with the peace that is needed in all circumstances, because of His finished work on the cross. Through His sacrifice, we have not only been made right in the sight of God, but we also have peace with the Holy, Righteous God! (Rom. 5:1)
Hallelujah!
