The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Good Friday – The Penalty is paid

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. – Philippians 2:8

Good Friday is a solemn day, when everyone around the world observe it as the day when Jesus was crucified on the Cross of Calvary ✝️.

What makes this day good if Jesus died on this day?
– Jesus humbled Himself, and took our place on the cross, to pay the penalty of all our sins.
– Jesus’ death on the cross has broken the curse of sin and nullified the power of death, giving us eternal life.
– Through His death, the dividing veil of the temple which separated us from God was torn from top to bottom, giving us direct and free access to the Holy God. Hallelujah!
– Just as through one man’s disobedience (Adam), sin entered the world. Likewise, through Jesus’ obedience, we are given the free gift of salvation!

Salvation is deliverance from the consequences of sin. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Being sinners, it was impossible for us to save ourselves from eternal death. So Jesus stepped in as our Redeemer, took upon Himself our death sentence and paid the Ransom for our sins. Praise be to God!

What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus
