Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34
David, the King and all the Levites brought the Ark of God to Jerusalem and kept it in the tabernacle erected by David. David appointed Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of God. On that day, David gave this Psalm(song) of thanksgiving for the first time to Asaph and the Levite worship team to sing and praise the Lord!
David mentions four elements of true thanksgiving in this song:
1. Giving glory to His Holy name and worshiping Him
2. Remembering the marvelous works which He had done
3. Declaring His wonders among the people
4. Proclaiming His goodness and His immeasurable blessings in our lives
