I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin” – Psalm 32:5
Psalm 32 is a Psalm of repentance where David confesses his sin to God and receives forgiveness. This chapter closely resembles Psalm 51, which is well known for David’s prayer of repentance, when Nathan the prophet confronted him of his sin.
David is a man with many weaknesses, who committed many sins and experienced multiple failures. However, he is also a man who sincerely repented and confessed his sins. He acknowledged his failures before God and pleaded for His forgiveness. God graciously forgave his sins. Later, this same weak and vulnerable man was given a title, “A man after God’s own heart!”
Like David let us also pray and ask God daily, to search our hearts and to show if there is any wickedness in us. Then, let us repent and confess our sins before God, who is faithful and just to forgive us from all our sins and iniquities.
