O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9
If someone asks us the question, How Great is your God? Psalm 8 is a poetic reply to that question.
In this Psalm, we can see verse 8:4 – “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?” In short, David is simply asking, “Why does God care about us?”
We can find the answer when it is referred to again in Heb 2:6. It talks about heaven coming to the earth and God coming in the flesh as Jesus. Jesus, to save you and me, made lower than angels, left His glory, honor, and crown, and made His foot in the dust. God, who lives in high and lofty places, came down and tasted death for everyone.
This tells us that when facing giants (sin, temptations, enemies, etc.) in your life, rest assured that God cares about you and comes down for you. As our LORD is our very present help (at our rescue 24×7), let us uplift the majestic name and enter in a new month!!
