If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
King Solomon was the wisest person who lived on the earth. It was impossible for King Solomon to rule Israel at that early age without God’s wisdom. It was impossible for the Israelites to conquer the promised land and be successful without God’s wisdom. In Bible, so many impossibles became possibilities because of God’s wisdom.
What kind of wisdom are you seeking to tackle daily problems?
James 3 talks about two kinds of wisdom:
The first wisdom’s “root” is – earthly/demonic (15), and its “fruit” is – “confusion” (16).
The second wisdom’s “root” is – “from above/God” (17), and its “fruit” is – “pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy, without partiality and hypocrisy” (18).
Here is the way to get God’s wisdom:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5)
Let us evaluate if we are making decisions with the wisdom of the above. If the outcome of our decision is “confusion,” let’s pray earnestly to get wisdom from above. If the outcome is “peaceable,” you are using the right wisdom, which is from above.
